EWZ is more than just fabric creation. It weaves the bonds of a stronger, resilient community. By providing training and employment opportunities, we empower local artisans to develop new skills and actively contribute to a thriving circular economy. Join us in this journey where fashion, sustainability, and community intertwine for a better future
The fashion industry is full of harmful materials, and in the same breath, the agricultural industry creates an amount of biological waste that isn’t used. We aim to solve these 2 problems with 1 solution. Taking the agricultural waste and creating textiles for the fashion industry that are clean, responsible and reliable.
In collaboration with local pineapple farmers, we will repurpose their agricultural waste into durable and eco-friendly fibers, we not only reduce environmental impact but also contribute to the livelihoods of our community members. This project goes beyond just creating fabric; it's about weaving together a stronger, more resilient community. Through training and employment opportunities, we aim to empower local artisans with new skills, fostering a sense of pride and self-sufficiency. As we grow this initiative, we envision a thriving network of skilled individuals driving the circular economy forward.
Our goal is to establish a circular economy model.
By engaging directly with local pineapple growers, offering them essential knowledge and equipment to enhance their yield. Simultaneously, we collaborate with the existing fruit processing plant to collect the fruit, minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency.
Further, we forge partnerships with Zambian weavers and textile manufacturers, utilizing pineapple fibers to craft unique fabrics. To diversify our product range, we incorporate other locally sourced fibers alongside pineapple. Through strategic marketing efforts, we aim to promote and distribute these innovative fabrics both locally and internationally, targeting markets in Europe, Asia, and locally to ensure widespread accessibility and economic sustainability.
